What is The Night Eats The World about?
The Night Eats the World is a horror film about a zombie apocalypse that happens overnight. A guy named Sam goes to a party in order to pick up his tapes from his ex-girlfriend’s apartment. He ends up passing out in one of the rooms, and wakes up realising that the city has been involved in a zombie apocalypse, where there are zombies everywhere in the building and outside. He ends up managing to find food and water, alcohol and much more which satisfies him for a while. He doesn’t see the point in leaving where he is, because he seems happy to be alone, and he knows he can survive there. That is until he meets someone, who changes his views massively what it means to be safe. The Night Eats the World horror film is currently on Netflix, so if you are a member to this service then you can watch it on there.
Would horror lovers enjoy this film?
The Night Eats the World gives such a unique perspective on the zombie apocalypse type horror. In almost every zombie horror, the characters are trying to find a safe place, and explore their world in order to find a sanctuary where they are protected from zombies. However, in this one, the protagonist is happy where he is, and turns the apartment into his own happy place. Which is actually quite refreshing to see. In terms of “horror”, we definitely think that horror lovers would benefit from seeing this film. This is because it offers a new perspective in the genre, but it doesn’t use any conventional horror methods such as jump scares or an over exaggerated amount of blood. But simply the situation that the main character is in is scary enough.
In summary, if you like fast paced, bloody and violent zombie films then this one might not be for you, but if you enjoy seeing different takes on these horrors and are appreciative of slower paced horror, then you’ll most likely enjoy this.
