What is The Boy (2016) about?
The Boy is a horror film about an old couple who lost their son in a fire when he was only eight. Soon after this, they receive a toy doll to their house that looks very similar to their son. They soon realise that if they act in a certain way and pretend that the doll is really their son, then it makes it happy. If they treat it badly though, there are serious consequences. They find a Nanny to look after the doll, but does she follow all of the rules and what could happen to her if she doesn’t? Find out the answers to this by watching the horror film The Boy. Would horror lovers enjoy this film?
We were so badly wrong about this film. We originally went into it thinking that it would be a silly horror film, where a doll can talk or something and it uses its powers to attack people, but hell no. This film is genuinely one of the scariest films that we’ve seen in a while, and the plot (that we originally thought was ludicrous) fully gets explained and makes sense, making it just a masterpiece of horror to enjoy. If you love horror, it would be a humongous shame for you to miss out on this film. It’s amazing, and the story line will stick with you for days. We very much enjoyed watching this horror film, and The Boy (2016) even made it into our top 10 list of highest rated horror films.
