We definitely feel that this Purge movie is an improvement from the previous ones (other then possible Anarchy), but it always feels as though something is missing from it. We feel that the idea is incredible for a horror film, but they focus so much on the politics of the night, and not much about the cruelty, horrors and sadistic nature of the purge. We often feel biased when discussing the purge movies, because we all actually really enjoyed watching The Purge: Election Year (2016) and The Purge: Anarchy (2014) horror film, but more so as though we’re watching a thriller/ action film rather than a horror. Even though we enjoy the set of films, we are here to rate a film as a horror. That is why our rating is what it is.
