What is The Platform about?
The Platform is a horror film about a prison that criminals are sent to for a set period of time when they have done something wrong. The difference between this and a prison that we are used to, is that there is an incredibly long hole that goes through the middle of each of the platforms where two people sleep. A table full of a massive feast goes down this hole one stage at a time. The problem with this, is that there is one feast for 250 floors. This means that after the first 100 floors, there might not even be half of an apple left. How do the people in this prison survive? Will the people at the top take sympathy for those below? Would horror lovers enjoy this film?
As soon as we saw the trailer for the platform we just knew that we had to watch it. It is one of those movies which has such a brilliant concept and idea that we knew that at the very least, it would be an interesting watch. We were correct about this. The film keeps you gript throughout, and you get to see the main character trying to survive at the different levels, all the way from level 6 to 200+. The Platform is a Spanish movie though, so unless you speak Spanish then you will have to watch it with subtitles or English audio, but that definitely shouldn’t get in the way of you watching it.
The Platform reminds us of another film named Level 16. This is because both of these two films have such a unique story line which we have not seen anywhere else. If you like The Platform then we think that you’ll like Level 16 too. You can read the review for Level 16 here.
